City in the Fog

October 2023, 192 pages

It is a dark mystery thriller with a dense, Lovecraftian-like atmosphere.

Robin Verner works in advertising, but he also harbours ambitions of becoming a writer. That is why he jumps on board when he gets an unexpected and at-first-glance strange offer to teach creative writing at a high school in the mountain town of Rozklava, viewing it as an opportunity to take a breather, get his ducks in a row—and write another book.

The thing is, Rozklava is not your ordinary town—it is a place frozen in time. The internet connection doesn’t work, the locals have never heard of a cellphone, and the radio only plays eighties hits. And in the town’s deep woods, people sometimes go missing after being sacrificed to a strange cult. Robin’s working holiday quickly takes an unexpected turn and turns into a genuinely terrifying experience.
